# Credits & top-ups

> How credits are priced, granted, and topped up.

## What a credit costs

Credits are the metering unit for generations across text, image, and video models.

1,000 credits = \$1 of Melius credit balance.

## How credits are granted

Credits show up in your balance from several sources:

| Source         | When                                    |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| `welcome`      | One-time grant on team creation.        |
| `subscription` | Monthly grant when a paid plan renews.  |
| `top-up`       | Manual purchase.                        |
| `bonus`        | Promotional or support-granted credits. |
| `refund`       | Refund for a failed generation.         |

## Manual top-ups

When your balance runs low, top up from **Team settings → Plans & billing → Top up**.

| Pack   | Price                 |
| ------ | --------------------- |
| Small  | \$10                  |
| Medium | \$20                  |
| Large  | \$50                  |
| Custom | Any amount you choose |

Topped-up credits **do not expire** and stack on top of any subscription credits.

## Credit history

Every grant and spend is logged. Open **Team settings → Plans & billing → Credit history** to see the full ledger filtered by source.
