# Members & roles

> Invite collaborators and assign roles.

Melius is organized around teams. Every project belongs to a team, and every member of the team gets access according to their role.

## Inviting members

From **Team settings → Members**, enter an email address and pick a role. Invited users get an email with a sign-up link. Once they accept, they appear in the team.

## Roles

| Role     | Can do                                                                               |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `owner`  | Everything, including billing and deleting the team.                                 |
| `admin`  | Manage members, projects, and team settings. Cannot delete the team or change owner. |
| `member` | Create and edit projects. Cannot manage other members or billing.                    |

Every team has exactly one owner. To transfer ownership, the current owner promotes another member.

## Removing members

Owners and admins can remove members from **Team settings → Members**. Removed members lose access to all team projects immediately.
