# Start a Cast video

> Start with your own script, a script template, or an example video.

## Start from scratch or a template

Open **Cast** in the sidebar. Choose **Start creating** under **Start from scratch** to write your own script. Choose **Browse templates** under **Start from a template** to pick a script you can edit.

Templates remain available even when they do not have an example video in Explore.

## Explore examples

Browse the mixed-format videos under **Explore**. Select a video to open its preview; on touch screens, tap it. You can also focus a video with the keyboard and press Enter.

Watching an example does not change your script. Every example names the Melius avatar it was shot with, and the preview offers three ways in:

* **Use template** starts from the example's linked script.
* **Use avatar** casts that avatar and leaves the script to you.
* **Remix with both** takes the script and the avatar together.

Several examples can share a template or an avatar. The template supplies editable script sections and video settings; the avatar is added to your team's library and cast for you. The example's voice, background, and finished video are not reused. Adjust the script and your cast before generating.

If an example is no longer available, return to Explore or choose another script from **Browse templates**.
